Apr 8, 2020 · I think it's some kind of larva. I would definitely contact your vet with the picture and see if you need a specific dewormer. Edit: a google image search supports the botfly theory. They're not uncommon. But if you're squeamish, take my word for it!

There's a mass the size of a toddlers fist under the skin near the hole and I believe the larva has already hatched and fallen out. I'll be taking the cat the to the vet's either Monday or Tuesday, depending on what they say.
