  1. L1A1 Self-Loading Rifle - Wikipedia

The L1A1 Self-Loading Rifle (SLR), also known by the initial Canadian designation C1, or in the U.S. as the "inch pattern" FAL, is a British version of the Belgian FN FAL battle rifle. The L1A1 was produced under licence and adopted by the armed forces of the Commonwealth of Nations , mainly by United Kingdom , Australia , Canada , India ...

  2. scroll down for picture...Optics other than the SUIT on British …

Mar 20, 2001 · What optic is that on his L1A1? If you zoom in close enough, the scope clearly looks European with straight edges on the front bell rather than rounded or flared as typically seen on American scopes. Also fairly small diameter front bell, and may have a bare aluminum lens retaining ring where the paint has peeled off.

  3. L1A1 DMR used by the NZSAS in Afghanistan, 2002

Sep 29, 2021 · Upon arriving in Afghanistan, the NZSAS quickly realized the ineffectiveness of 5.56 in the mountainous terrain. These L1A1s were taken from Navy reserves as line throwers and converted into designated marksman rifles. They were modified with DSA hand guards, DSA receiver covers, custom suppressors, new charging handles, and ACOGs. My dream rifle.

Century Arms created a semi-automatic version L1A1 with an IMBEL upper receiver and surplus British Enfield inch-pattern parts, while DSArms used Steyr-style metric-pattern FAL designs. This standard-metric difference means the Century Arms and DSArms firearms are not made from fully interchangeable batches of parts.

  5. NEW ZEALAND ARMS REGISTER: # 26 L1A1 SLR (Abridged)

Jul 19, 2012 · In Vietnam NZ troops carried the L1A1, occasionally fitting the 30 round L2A1 or Bren L4 magazine for extra fire power, while the SAS favoured a homemade forward pistol grip. The first 1,000 rifles received in 1959/60 were marked NZ on the body above the magazine, but this practice was discontinued.

  6. Self Loading Rifle L1A1: The European “Black Rifle”

Aug 1, 2014 · The “Self Loading Rifle L1A1” is the British adaption of the Belgian FN FAL. It was a compromise for project reasons as well as following British Army doctrine of not wanting a fully automatic rifle with such a heavy calibre.

  7. Name That FAL/L1A1 and Optic - The FAL Files

Jun 7, 2013 · I found the picture when I was looking up FAL/L1A1 DMR/Sniper rifles. It does have the SA DMR stock. The top comb is near straight on those and the butt pad is thick. The butt of the stock is also larger than normal or maybe just looks that way because it s straight on top. Don't know why but that's how they were.

  8. Differences and when do you use a Battle Rifle over a DMR?

Jul 14, 2021 · The term DMR refers more to the usage of said weapon, irrespective of its caliber or its design. An M16A4 with a Leupold long-range optic and a bipod can serve as a DMR, just as much as a fully kitted-out G28 or Mk14 EBR/M39 EMR can.

  9. L1A1 (British FN FAL) DMR-ish package reduced | The FAL Files

Sep 1, 2009 · L1A1 (British FN FAL) DMR-ish package I unfortunately need to part with this excellent FAL. It is a nice L1A1 kit built up on an Imbel Gear logo receiver w/ bolt hold-open & set up to use Metric pattern mags rather than the harder to find & more expensive Inch pattern mags.
