August 4th is the feast of Saint Dominic, where members of the Kewa Pueblo gather in the presentation of the Green Corn Dance. Wearing traditional ceremonial attire, the Kewa people take part in honoring and patron saint of the historic Indian Pueblo.

Santo Domingo Pueblo, also known Kewa Pueblo (also spelled Kiua, Eastern Keres [kʰewɑ], Keres: Díiwʾi, Navajo: Tó Hájiiloh) is a federally recognized tribe of Native American Pueblo people in northern New Mexico.

The Kewa Pueblo, formerly called the Santo Domingo Pueblo, is located on the east bank of the Rio Grande between Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico. Of the Keresan-speaking tribes, all Pueblo peoples are thought to have descended from the ancient Anasazi, from which they learned architecture, farming, pottery, and basketry.

Santo Domingo Pueblo also known as Kewa Pueblo is located near the ancient Cerrillos turquoise mines and its people have an entrenched history of making fine jewelry and heishi out of the colorful stones.

Santo Domingo Pueblo (also known as Kewa; Santo Domingo was the name given by the Spanish in 1600), is located between Albuquerque and Santa Fe, along the 1-25 corridor off Exit 259. For over 400 years, Santo Domingo Pueblo has been one of the central Pueblo communities in New Mexico and the homelands to many people for thousands of years.
