Jul 10, 2015 · Kerr manufactured a line of jelly glasses over many years, including small glasses (packer jars) that look like drinking glasses, and others that are shaped more like low, rounded custard or dessert bowls. On some of the earlier ones (not sure about the timeline) a so-called “Angel over crown” logo was marked on the bottom.

One way is to look at the logo. The very first Kerr jars had a simple “K” logo on them. In 1910, the logo was changed to include a star in between the “K” and “E” (for “Kerr Economy”). This star remained on Kerr jars until around 1921 when it was removed.

Golden Harvest along with Kerr and Ball are the most popular brand names seen on modern clear glass canning jars sold in the United States. Apparently most of them are still (as of 2020) produced within the US.
