Feb 27, 2025 · The KTM weighs 364 pounds wet, and the Ibex 450 is a chunky monkey at 419 pounds wet. Add a new seat, more fuel capacity and a windscreen, etc., to that Suzuki, and it will be pretty close to the KTM. But it would be harder to take enough parts off that KTM to get it down to the Suzuki’s weight.

KTM also owes money to as many as 2,500 employees, reportedly, as well as 1,170 registered creditors. They are offering to pay these creditors 30 cents on the dollar by the end of May, 2025.

The old SMT models used KTM’s V-twin engine, but the new 890 uses (as the name implies) the LC8c parallel twin that first appeared in the 790 series and now powers the 890 Adventure, among other machines.
