Mar 3, 2023 · It's how you have to do it in RP-1. That's not a criticism of course; I like the sounding rocket phase, I think it's a good part of the RP-1 gameplay progression. EDIT: I think it may be possible to reach orbit with start node tech. I think I vaguely remember seeing someone do that. But it's not very practical, and messes with the progression.

This uses the RP-1 tech tree and places stock and stock-alike parts into the tree RP-1 training times for crew RP-1 Style KerbalConstructionTime, KCT presets for stock, 2.5x, and RSS size systems. It is intended to be as lightweight as possible and to be a lot more 'Kerbal' than the full RO/RP-1.

Oct 22, 2022 · Rush building in P&LC isn't like normal RP-1: no paying exorbitant costs to boost 10%, instead rushing happens over time with a 50% speedup and a 100% cost increase on that Launch Complex while it also doesn't gain any efficiency, something that could really hurt with a newer LC before that efficiency can build up.

Jun 17, 2020 · I am also kinda new to RP-1, but I stumbled upon the same issue. A bit of conclusions are here. With 60t pad I had used RD-108 for like 150-170 seconds, which gave me approx. 3000-3500 dV and TWR 1.12 at the launchpad. Top stage was RD-0105/0109 with 5000 dV and 6 minutes of burn time (TWR 0.68). (although afair rd-0105 is on 1958 node).
