Carcass are an English death metal band from Liverpool, formed in 1985. The band have gone through several line-up changes, leaving guitarist Bill Steer and bassist-vocalist Jeff Walker as the only constant members.

Jeffrey Walker (born 25 March 1969) is an English musician, best known for his work with death metal band Carcass for which he is also the main lyricist. Before Carcass, he played in the hardcore punk band Electro Hippies. [1]

Carcass is considered to be the major inspiration and musical foundation for most deathgrind/goregrind bands, as well as being one of the founding fathers of melodic death metal & death 'n' roll when they had switched their genre to the melodic death metal/death 'n' roll sounds by the early '90s.
