Dec 7, 2024 · The 'Great Raid' of Jebe and Subutai took the Kipchaks in the rear, which seems to have been the point, as Yuyue and others have argued. But when I suggested Jebe I was actually thinking about his role in the Khwarezmian campaign, when iirc he crossed the Tian Shan Mountains to take the enemy in the rear.
