Mar 25, 2015 · I ran the IKE Gauntlet course in my ED yesterday and trounced the ED in the video and the Ford EB they talked about - I ran it with cruise set at 72 and finished in 5:41. I would have been a few seconds faster if a minivan hadn't decided to park in the left lane with a semi and other traffic in the right and center lanes.

Oct 12, 2019 · TFL's past Ike Gauntlet tests with the hemi are pretty impressive for both speed and fuel economy. I'm a little disappointed with the 3rd gen ED run but at least it outperformed the old Ford 3.0L. I think the ED was a 2wd too. I have a suspicion GM's inline 3L will get both better fuel economy and time versus the 3rd gen ED.

Nov 9, 2019 · The guys at TFL finally did the Ike gauntlet and the new inline 6 did relatively well aside from the downhill portion. The downhill had way too many brake applications. They say the RPMs were too low as if tow/haul and engine braking were disabled. That's pretty disappointing.

May 10, 2018 · Now that GM will be using the same transmission in the in-line 6 diesel as Ford, I hope they add a turbo brake to stay away from Ford's problems shown in the video. When I get a headache I take two aspirin and keep away from children, just like the bottle says.

Oct 29, 2021 · This summer we travel up Ike Gauntlet on I 70 in Colorado towing 7000 lb Airstream. The Oil temperature hit 267 and water temp hit 240 and motor started to derate. I was going slow around 35 mph right before the entrance to Eisenhower tunnel and had pull over for few minutes to let motor idle and cool off.
