To ensure that students have the necessary background in mathematics and overall, the eligibility criteria has been kept at this level. Another reason is that IIIT-Delhi has very limited seats, and it is necessary to restrict the number of applicants to a reasonable number.

IIIT-Delhi offers Ph.D. programs in Computational Biology (CB), Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE), Human-Centered Design (HCD), Mathematics (Maths), and Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH).

Admission through IIIT-Delhi admission process using class XII score (for some seats of B.Tech. (CSSS)) Merit List for UCEED will be prepared based on candidates All India UCEED Rank 2025. In case of a tie candidate with higher class XII percentage shall rank higher.

Currently, IIIT-Delhi has only full-time Ph.D. program in Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics Communication Engineering, Computational Biology and Mathematics. Fresh B.Tech. graduates with research aptitude are strongly encouraged to apply.
