Jan 5, 2024 · A hydrofoil will cut your planing time in almost half. I put a SE sport 300 on all the boats I have owned. But, that being said you need to have the right prop to begin with. The right prop is the most important thing. So, get the right prop and also put a Hydrofoil on. A hydrofoil is pretty cheap. I think the SE sport 300 is around 70 to 80 bucks.

May 6, 2001 · Since I had run the SE300 hydrofoil on a 20' glass boat with the 200 Yamaha I quickly put one on the new engine- absolutely a good move for me. On plane easily every time with 3000 rpm or less throttle. That, in itself, is worth the investment. The SE300 comes with a very well thought out template to do the install directly to the cavitation plate.

Feb 24, 2001 · If it was my boat i wouldnt put a hydrofoil on it. I dont like them because while they help low speed planing they hurt top and they seem to affect bow lift. every performance hull i have ever driven needs some throttle to get on plane its just the nature of the beast. if the boat us porposing at low speed it can be due to a number of reasons. most likley its trimmed out too …

Aug 9, 2006 · I've got one on my Triton for tubing or pulling an occasional skier. By boat is set up correctly but with the hydrofoil holeshot is blistering fast. At WOT the hydrofoil is totally out of the water so there is no additional drag. I really don't see a negative thing about it except for the way some of them look. I have the SE300, it's a nice one.

Feb 2, 2002 · On My Tournament V17 with a Johnson 60HP I had the same problem.. Its a typical result of a Flatbottom/SEMI V Boat. I added a SE SPORT 300 Hydrofoil From Bass Pro. The boat always planed fast and had plenty of power, but the foil really woke it up. I could trim Higher without porpoising and actually picked up a few MPH because of the smooth ride.

Oct 17, 2011 · Will a Hydrofoil settle down my 882 Nitro? Chopping water or at medium speed (20-30) I get the porpoising or I plow water. I love the boat (wouldn't own anything else) but it only has 2 speeds slow or FAST. I only know of one other boat with a HydroFoil, a Dynatrack with a 175 Evinrude, and it settled it down but I think it slowed it down also.

Aug 20, 2013 · Anyone have a hydrofoil on a tracker tournament v18, and if so, any positive results. The reason I'm asking is while fishing alone, the boat leans to the driver side bad at slower speeds. I have a 115 optmax and been playing around with different props, with no luck.
