Helena Leigh Bell is an American accountant and author of speculative fiction and poetry, [1] active in the field since 2005. She writes as Helena Bell, with some of her works published under her full name. [2]

Feb 4, 2025 · It is with profound sadness that we are announcing the death last Friday of Helena Bell, our much-loved Artistic Director. Helena was admitted to hospital in December after feeling unwell, and was moved to a hospice in early January.

Mar 27, 2025 · DURING this International Women’s Month www.asianculturevulture.com would like to pay tribute to artistic leader Helena Bell who passed away earlier this year and highlight all her fantastic work. Bell was artistic director of Kali Theatre Company from 2016 to 2025 and was deeply loved by many in the creative community.

Helena was an outstanding Artistic Director for Kali. Her perception as an artist, an interpreter and a guide came from heart and mind together. It was a rare gift that made her talent special for actors, writers, all who worked with her and for audiences too. We were lucky to have her.

Helena Bell is a Nebula nominated speculative fiction writer currently living in Durham, NC. Her work has appeared in Copper Nicklel, Clarkesworld, Lightspeed, The Indiana Review, and Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy, among other places.
