Zombies is a gametype in Halo 2 based on the Slayer gamemode. In the gametype, red players are cast as survivors, whereas green players are the titular zombies, who must hunt down and kill the remaining survivors, at which point those survivors become zombies themselves.

Survive the Undead meshes the Halo Firefight experience with the fan-favorite COD Zombies mode resulting in fast paced, intense, and sometimes spooky gameplay.

Once upon a time, Infection was an unofficial custom game played with honor rules in Halo 2—a game that released in the periphery of 28 Days Later, Dawn of the Dead, Shaun of the Dead, and Resident Evil, and so it was little wonder that Halo fans had zombies on their collective minds.

Halo Infinite adds fan-made Zombies mode until June 4, created by Forge Falcons. Survive the Undead mode features PvE gameplay with alien horde waves to outlast.
