Harold Abraham McRae (/ m ə ˈ k r eɪ /; born July 10, 1945) is an American former left fielder in Major League Baseball who played for the Cincinnati Reds (1968, 1970–72) and Kansas City Royals (1973–87).

Jun 10, 2020 · Hal McRae is one of the more special stories in Royals history. McRae is not just a former Royals outfielder and designated hitter who spent 15 years in Kansas City and is also a member of the Royals Hall of Fame.

In 1982, McRae was one of five Royals named to the All-Star team during what was by far the finest season of his career. In a remarkable season, the outfielder and DH hit .308 with 27 home runs and a staggering 133 RBIs.

Oct 9, 2020 · In addition to stints as skipper of the Royals and Tampa Bay Devil Rays, McRae has also been hitting coach for the Montreal Expos, Cincinnati Reds, Philadelphia Phillies and the St. Louis Cardinals, with whom he won a ring in 2006. In 1989, Hal was inducted into the Kansas City Royals Hall of Fame.
