The HP 7470 was a small low-cost desktop pen plotter introduced by Hewlett-Packard's San Diego division in 1982. [1] It was the first small-format plot that moved the paper, rather than the pens. [2] It used a revolutionary "grit wheel" design which moved the paper held in place by a wheel with embedded grit and a pinch roller.

The 7470A was the world's first small format paper-moving plotter. Previous plotters held the paper still while a mechanical arm held a pen to draw a 2-dimensional image. The advantages of the paper-moving technology were: lower costs due to fewer mechanical parts, higher speed due to the much lower inertia of the moving parts, and smaller size.

7470.EXE is a Win32-based emulator for the HP 7470A plotter. It will acquire an HP-GL/2 plot and render it in a window. The plot can then be printed, viewed as an overlay with other plots, or saved in several different graphics file formats as well as its original HP-GL/2 format.

HP made a minor mechanical modification to the 7475A in 1985. The original 7475A had a mechanical paper stop attached to the paper hold lever. This allowed users to load media in exactly the right place by both sight and feel. HP eliminated the paper stop and replaced it with a painted white line.

Most convenient format would be in a .lif file, but any format is fine; even a text listing here is OK, I can move it over or worst case key it in.
