I still remember going to the Grippos plant on a school field trip (3rd Grade, i think). At the end of the tour, we each got a fresh bag right off the line - still warm. I also remember how in school some of the kids would put ketchup on Grippos BBQ chips. Some of the kids claimed that Grippos BBQ chips with ketchup taste just like shrimp cocktail.

Since I’m from west central Ohio, grippos don’t make a huge appearance. Anyway, in Ohio you go to a reception center in Columbus, they have grippos you can buy on commissary. You’ll be warned that once you get out of reception and go to your parent institution grippos can potentially be a profitable situation or sadly, a violent one.

Dec 10, 2014 · I purchased a bag of regular grippos about 2 months ago and thought the same thing. It was definitely not what I remembered. Not bad, just different. They seemed to be a bit thicker consistency and maybe baked/fried longer.

Ah a fellow brother from the south west of Ohio 😂 honestly they got em at any Kroger frfr but…if you want “ghetto grippos” 👀 if you know what I’m talking bout, the ones with the extra seasoning, gas stations is your best bet, I usually get mine at UDF.

150 votes, 53 comments. true. Fun fact: Grippo's was forced to stop using trans fats years ago (like all chip brands), and they were afraid the change would affect their flavor, so they held out as long as possible before reformulating their recipe.

May 8, 2022 · I noticed the same, devastating thing back in late February. I went to the Grippos website and was able to place an online order for some. A couple days later I got an email saying that the cheese nibs were on "backorder" and that they were "waiting to hear from a supplier on a delivery date." They then refunded my order.
