I guess the other gorilla glues are not good with leather. this is the stuff I used. if this isn't what you have in mind then stick to regular contact cement. my brand is Dap WeldWood been using for years.

Dec 18, 2014 · I have used gorilla glue when putting in a wedge quite a few times now, and it works great. Just a little smeared across the kerf, and on both sides of the wedge, and pound it in. Then wipe off the excess before it dries. Seems to lock everything up nicely. I would not use it inside the eye, or where it would glue the head to the haft.
