He has a picture of the fish with his reel and rod handle for scale and if that fish was as big as the ODFW claims, then that reel must be a rare Mitchell 3,000!

Jul 19, 2023 · The easiest way I catch golden trout at Rocky lake is by fishing smack in the middle of the lake. Throw past the middle of the lake and reel in across the middle and sooner or later you will get it. Try fishing the lure close to the surface, in the middle and just above the bottom. Trouts are in all the layers of water, high and low.

Aug 20, 2011 · This was a wilderness expedition into the Golden Trout Wilderness in the southern Sierras (Inyo Natonal Forest). Our goal was to concentrate our fishing within the native home range for these fish - the Upper Kern Plateau - fishing the South Fork of the Kern River, Volcano Creek and the Golden Trout Creek drainages.

On a day where the spirits were very displeased with me, I caught 14 trout and had zero golden tags out of the whole bunch. I then went and made myself a lucky lunch, and proceeded to get 7 tags out of the next 23 that I caught.

The golden rainbow is actually a color variant of the rainbow trout. I hope it isn't a real Golden Trout... They are only found in California, in streams over 10,000 ft in elevation...
