May 31, 2015 · The thin grip of the 36 frame feels really nice in hand compared to the SF frame of the 30S and I'm hoping the thin slide/frame and the "minus" connector combined with the new holster/spare mag pouch turns out to be IWB carry bliss in this serious/big bore caliber.

Mar 19, 2025 · Glock does the same thing for the Gen 3 models that sell well in CA. Also kind of like how Glock has discontinued the Gen 4 guns for everyone buy LE customer agencies, and S&W discontinued the original M&P pistols for everyone but their existing LE agency customers.

Aug 5, 2011 · I've found the best use for it is for carry in hot weather as,since it is a Glock, rust is not a worry. How nice it would be, though, if Glock would make a "full size 36". A 36 with a 21's barrel and single stack would no doubt replace my beloved 1911's for both duty and off-duty....

Oct 24, 2013 · I have a Glock 36 with an upgraded recoil spring (23lbs) and it feeds this ammo like a champ. I've run 200 rounds through my gun so far and haven't had a single problem despite being told by "experts" that a G36 couldn't handle this higher pressure load.

Sep 6, 2009 · A Glock 19 9mm would be a better choice of gun, if you want low recoil. The 9mm FMJ practice ammo is low recoil & far cheaper. The cheap FMJ ammo is basically all you will ever shoot.

Most of what I've read about replacing the rod assemblies (rod and spring), people have used a replacement assembly setup from Wolff - one guy with three different sub-compact Glocks mentioned the Wolff setup with a 19 pound spring on his Glock 36.

Nov 5, 2023 · Smallest footprint is probably not a Glock. S&W Shield .45 is thinner giving less bulk overall. If grip height is more important than general bulk, a 30S with a 9 round mag will be shorter than the Shield or the 36. If you want thin (ish) and Glock, then I guess the 36 is it.
