Jan 6, 2024 · Shooting a Glock 29 next to a Glock 30 it really depends on the ammo. Plinking or target ammo at low velocity ie 10 MM, 180 grain FP at 1050 FPS compared to a 45 ACP 200 grain SWC they are very similar in recoil and recovery time.

Sep 7, 2012 · I have had a Glock 29 for many years. Lots of power in a small package. Both the 180 and 200 grain XTP's are good loads. If I had to pick one over the other it would be the 200 grain. In penetration testing the 200 grain XTP does pretty well for a HP.

Jul 23, 2012 · The sf grip is 3 mm shorter than the 29 making the trigger reach easier for those of us with smaller hands. The ejector housing is also different than the standard and not interchangable. All else is the same.

It's just loaded to the full pressure 37,500 PSI of the original Norma specs which is what the Glock was originally designed to handle, so you're not over-stressing the gun. Most commercial 200 grain fmj (Blazer, Hornady, PMC) is loaded to only 1050 fps, Underwood and Buffalo bore is loaded to 1250 fps.

Jul 25, 2022 · Big difference in the 29 and the 30 the 30 is the softer shooting 45 caliber and the 29 is the fast hard hitting 10mm. You could take midsize game at close range with the 29 if that is what you want, 10 mm ammo costs a little more. 10 mm ammo is a little harder on the gun too but it is a great round.

Take a look at the geltin thread below, where MCNETT talks about the DT 165 Gold Dot ammo penetrating FURTHER in the gelatin out of a G29 than out of a G20 (15" out of G29, 14.25" for G20), with a slight sacrifice in overall expansion (.84" to 1.02").
