Nov 26, 2023 · The gen 3 model 22/23/27 were among the most popular police sidearms for nearly 20 years. Hard to find a handgun that is more vetted IMO. I have carried gen 2/3 .40 Glocks on duty and off for many years.

Jan 28, 2013 · I bought my Glock new in February 2011. In March of the same year I got Warren Night sights installed. The total cost of the sights plus install was $145. I'm not "bad" with the Glock, but I was noticeably better with the 1911. I know the Glock is a great handgun and reliability has never been an issue.

Nov 2, 2010 · Congrats on the G23, you made a good choice. For practice, I concur with the above quote from cadillacguns. I have tried the cheap wolf ammo and experienced no malfunctions, but its only pennies cheaper than the Federal 180 gr. at walmart so I will just stick to the Federal for target practice.

Jul 14, 2022 · The 23 Gen 3 was my first Glock pistol - maybe 2005’ish. I’ve installed metrolight sights, OEM “extended” slide stop/release and OEM “extended” magazine catch. Jul 11, 2021 · As far as having issues with the new recoil spring, I believe that was only on the 9mm's, and they have more than resolved that by now. It was a Glock 19 that I just traded in for the 23, and I had no issues whatsoever with the recoil spring on that. the gen 4 recoil spring, to me, made a very noticeable difference on the 23.

Jan 30, 2006 · One of my reserve officers just purchased a new Glock 23 compensated for a duty weapon. I personaly have never known any officer carrying a compensated weapon for a duty weapon. What are the advantages or disadvantages? He and I took it out and shot it today, and I can't tell any difference in between my regular 23 and his.

Jun 12, 2011 · The Glock 19/23/32 is a svelt little concealed companion that's hard to beat, and, IMO, the P229 doesn't beat it. If it must be a .40, and you're looking at platforms other than Glock, the .40 I'd choose would be a full size M&P (or even a long slide).

Oct 24, 2008 · I ride with my 23 all the time. I have shot both the 27 and the 23 in side-by-side comparisons when I was deciding which to buy. The recoil difference is minimal, but for me the 23 was easier to handle and shoots better. For my holster, well it is a simple Uncle Mikes IWB that fits my 23 like a glove.
