Sep 3, 2016 · What's the best interactive historical map that you know of (eg. select a year between 3000BCE-2016CE) I'm recently starting to get into history more, and I've found that these interactive maps are extremely useful in helping me visualize everything.

Aug 10, 2023 · There was a website called GeaCron which allowed you to enter any year since 3000 BC and instantly see an interactive world map that depicted the borderes and regions of the year. Unfortunatlely, the website does not work anymore (the map does not appear).

I have vivid memories of past New Year’s Day mornings wherein the map would change at midnight in accordance with the previous year’s geopolitical changes (particularly the occupation of Crimea and changes in shape of the Islamic State).

Jun 18, 2020 · I've found websites like geacron.com and scribblemaps, but I'm curious if you know of alternatives. With scribblemaps, drawing the borders manually is quite time consuming. And with geacron, the maps aren't the most anesthetic.

For instance it once depicted the full range of Sclaveni settlement into Roman territories in the 7th century, but later on they amended it so that the whole thing says "Byzantine Empire", really representing the extent ...
