Garnduwa Amboorny Wirnan was established in 1992 in response to the growing need for a representative Indigenous sporting body in the Kimberley. Our name is derived from languages within the Kullarri, Malarabah, and Wirnan regions. It means ‘ big mob of people coming together to do something’.

May 16, 2016 · Alan Bishop, formerly in charge of Kimberley sporting body Garnduwa, has been charged following an investigation by the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations, Anthony Beven. It is alleged Mr Bishop created false records to raise 38 Garnduwa cheques totalling $237,305.48 for his own personal benefit.
