v1.03 is the original PS2 release, which hasn't got any bug fixes. v3.00 is the Greatest Hits version, which has got bug fixes. If you want the "best" version, go for v3.00. (Only the PC version has cut music. All PS2 versions have got the exact same music and content.)

PS2 was peak gaming era. 5 GTA games during one generation. People overlook the stories games, but Liberty City stories is my personal favorite ( behind San Andreas of course) LCS and VCS released during the awkward leap from 3D to HD gaming ~2006. Doesn't help they were PSP exclusives for a while.

Aug 19, 2019 · Trilogy version for PS2 is probably v2. The official v2 names are Greatest Hits and Platinum Edition, but trilogy falls in the same era. Saves were compatible within the same region. PS2 never got a v3, and on PC v3 (steam) is compatible with v2 saves anyway. I noticed a 2012 PS2 Classic version too.

Jul 10, 2023 · Search psone classics on ps3 and you can see the whole list of games there were ever ‘ported’. I’m sure a physical copy will still work. Looks like GTA, London 1969, and GTA2 were all released as physical copies on ps1. If you search ps1 compatibility on ps3 you’ll see if they run as expected.
