The GE U33C is a 6-axle diesel-electric locomotive built by GE Transportation Systems between January 1968 and January 1975. [1] 375 examples of this locomotive were built for 11 North American railroads and one construction contractor. 5701 was wrecked and never wore the BN Cascade Green.

Jan 1, 2025 · The U33C was General Electric's first six-motored model to sport a noticeably flared rear radiator; needed to handle the unit's 3,300 horsepower. The model sold relatively well for GE with some 375 units out-shopped by the time production ended in 1975.

The GE U33C were 3300 Horsepowered units. The 4 cycle diesel engine provided more power than a similar EMD 2 cycle locomotive. Three of these units were traded for three SD-45s to the D&H in 1969.
