Nov 16, 2010 · Only the first Frisco GP35 order, SLSF 700-SLSF 716, came from EMD in the black and yellow livery. They were delivered in March and April of 1964. All the remaining GP35s, SLSF 717-SLSF 732 came in the new Mandarin orange and white scheme, including all the units that rode on Alco trucks.

Dec 17, 2024 · The GP35 was EMD's final four-axle road-switcher equipped with its rugged 567 prime mover. The model also established a new carbody design, which became the builder's standard through the late 1980s.

The details were verified by checking vs a "35" that was sitting at Rolla in March, 1982, while son Kurt and I were on an Ozarks fishing/trainwatching trip.

The EMD GP35 is a 4-axle diesel-electric locomotive built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division between July 1963 and December 1965 and by General Motors Diesel between May 1964 and January 1966.

The GP35 is a 2500HP unit built by EMD. They were bought by a number of railroads, including AT&SF, SP, UP, GN, CB&Q, CRI&P, EL, NYC, B&O, PRR to name a few. The GP30 was 2250 HP, and the GP40 was 3000 HP.
