Jun 29, 2020 · Frisco's 4500 class was constructed based upon the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy's O-5b class. Numbers 4500-4502 were built for passenger service on the "Meteor," an overnight train between St. Louis, Tulsa and Oklahoma City.

Mar 29, 2025 · For the record, the first three Frisco 4-8-4's (4500-4502) were built as oil-burners and given this special paint scheme to haul "The Meteor" passenger train between St. Louis and Tulsa. The SLSF generously preserved both 4500 and 4501.
