Oct 26, 2020 · Another key point is if it was toxins from the aiptasia, the other aiptasia should have been immune to some degree to it, and the leathers should have perished instead with the other softies and hard corals that you lost. I don’t think it was the filefish who released the toxin, but most likely what caused it.
Filefish are generally suitable only for fish-only aquariums. Their eclectic dietary preferences includes many algae and sessile invertebrates, so they are generally not considered “reef safe”. Aug 16, 2020 · I had so-called Aptasia Eating Filefish (large ones and small ones), and it was extremely common for them to take an odd, still, 'pose'-- like floating motionless at a strange angle for periods of time-- but a video would help to know whether that it what you are describing.

And I don’t think it’s getting much food from eating my montipora. after the filefish leaves the montipora alone for a while the polyps come back out so it seems that the fish isn’t actually eating the coral successfully.
