Errtu's is a vorpal blade and it can detect good in a 30'-radius. Any other creature that picks up a balor's sword suffers 10d6 points of damage and must successfully save vs. spell or die immediately. Many balors, including Errtu, also use great, many-tailed whips.

Feb 21, 2007 · Errtu was described and statted in the 2e Villain's Lorebook, which you can download here for free (though it's barely worth the effort). He was presented as a standard balor tanar'ri, unexceptional in every way. His intelligence was slightly lower than some 2e balors, but he was still a genius.

Aug 11, 2022 · In Crystal Shard, Errtu dies on the prime material plane and is banished for 100 years. In Queen of the Demonweb Pits, after Lloth's avatar is destroyed on Oerth, she's banished to the Abyss for only 100 days.

Errtu is one of the demons of the Planes of Existence, a balor (Chaotic Evil). Errtu is described to be ruthless and bloodthirsty, but also cunning and not unwilling to offer alliance to those whom he thinks will gain him greater power. (Akar Kessel, Lolth, etc.)

In 1485 DR, Balor was accosted by the goddess Lolth, who was then allied with Balor's greatest rival, the balor Errtu. Lolth destroyed his minions, poisoned him, and entrapped him in a web cocoon.
