ECE Regulation 90 (abbreviated "ECE R90") is an ECE Regulation specifying design, construction, and performance requirements and test protocols for replacement brake linings for roadgoing motor vehicles and trailers.

UN ECER90, is a safety regulation which was introduced in 1999 for replacement disc brake pads and brake shoes. The aim was to establish a common minimum standard of braking performance, product integrity and quality across the whole of Europe.

What is ECE R90? ECE-R90 guarantees the same performance as the OE brake component. In North America, there is no government regulation that requires brake parts to be certified to meet OE specifications prior to being sold.
