Is it possible that using Universal Door Weather-stripping instead of the genuine could work or would that be more work than just using the regular genuine one and I should just suck it up and buy it (lol)?

Oct 12, 2011 · On my 89 E24, the driver's side door will not close without really slamming it into place. Also, when I open it, it makes a loud "crack! crack" sound. Is there some sort of an adjustment that can be made?
