Aug 7, 2020 · My duck hen has a habit of eating dirt. She’ll go outside, and just munch on it lol. She recently picked up on eating her own feces, as well as the other duck’s poop. Is this normal? Can I stop it? She contaminated the water every times she gets a drink, because she has poop on her beak. I don’t want her or the other ducks drinking that!

Jan 21, 2015 · My duck is sick a few days ago she stopped eating and drinking and wasn't walking just sitting! She walks a little now but not much. She keeps her wings at her side and her beak has red rash by the looks of it. Really concerned. Help please!!!

He is drinking lots of water, and walking fine, but he won't eat his food. I have 2 different bags and he's eaten from both of them before, but the last 2 days he just won't eat either.

May 19, 2017 · Check his surroundings, if there is no food... maybe he's catching bugs, eating bedding, or he could be eating well um, his own poop. my ducks did this when i first moved them from 24/7 fed to interval feeding. they got over it after a day or two. My ducks also went through a phase of not eating much but i think it was them being stubborn...

Jun 28, 2011 · I stored my ducks' eggs on the kitchen counter, just like the chicken eggs from my flock. I do wipe the duck eggs off if they're muddy, with a dry dish towel. If I found an egg in the kiddie pool, I discarded it. LOVE duck eggs! The flavor is more rich than chicken eggs. And boy, howdy, do they make great baked desserts!

Feb 6, 2024 · Since I haven't looked in my duck's mouth yet, I don't know for sure what everything looks like, but obviously I don't want to try to stick the feeding tube in the wrong spot. I don't want to hurt or traumatize her, and definitely don't want to push anything into her lungs.

Jan 1, 2014 · I have heard of one case of a duck eating so much grit that it did not have room for food. that is a really extreme case. Are they just occasionally eating one or two pieces, or really nomming down and filling up? They need to eat some gravel and sand so they can chew their food. Do they get water and food 24/7? Or is there a specific feeding time?

Jul 23, 2009 · How do I stop young ducks from eating each others feathers. I have been having trouble with some of my younger ducks stripping the feathers off the wings and back of their pen mates. When I see this happen I will either take the aggressor out and move it to another pen with larger ducks or take out the picked on duck and move him in with others.
