Aug 30, 2004 · We are more than six months past the first license date of Dexos 1 Gen 3 (9/1/21) and the list of approved oils remains relatively short. Most notably, all flavors of Mobil 1 are missing from the list and PP only has 0W-20 on there.

However, they are Dexos approved for 5w-30 and 0w-20. Makes me wonder why? Is 5w-20 becoming an obsolete oil viscosity? (I don't think so)

Pennzoil (Aly, I think I've seen her in a Pennzoil video) says no Dexos on PUP. Is there a way to determine whether PUP is good enough to meet Dexos 1 (Gen 1 or 2, I don't care which)?
