Delain is a Dutch symphonic metal band formed in 2002 by former Within Temptation keyboardist Martijn Westerholt, intending for the band to be solely a project. Singer Charlotte Wessels was invited to join in 2005.

Delain was formed by Martijn Westerholt, the former Within Temptation keyboard player, who quit Within Temptation because of health reasons. While his brother Robert remained in Within Temptation, Martijn had to watch the band's breakthrough from the sidelines.

Dark Waters is the seventh studio album by Dutch symphonic metal band Delain. It was released on 10 February 2023 via Napalm Records. [3] [10] It is the first studio album to feature Ludovico Cioffi on bass and Diana Leah on lead vocals. The album also marks the return of drummer Sander Zoer and original guitarist Ronald Landa.
