May 10, 2019 · DA40 is a really nice flying airplane and a great trainer. The center stick is great but it makes the cockpit a little cramped. I can wear a small knee board but need to stow my iPad in the pocket next to my left leg (I’m 6’3 and wouldn’t want to be any taller in the DA40).
It was recently discovered that, on some early production DA 40 NG aeroplanes, the airspeed indicator (ASI) markings have been wrongly applied. The lower ends of the green and white arc are incorrect. The stall speed values specified in the Airplane Flight Manual (AFM), chapter 5, are correct and the stall warning system is not affected.

Jan 21, 2014 · If you mean the indicated air speed on the PFD does not display any value below 20 kts, I believe this is normal. The G1000 Pilot's Guide says speed indication starts at 20 knots. All 3 DA40's I have flown had this same behavior - during acceleration for takeoff, it seems I never see anything until maybe 25-30 kts. Diamond Aviators Net.

Backup and G1000 ASI different during slow flight
Jun 27, 2011 · I was practising slow flight with an instructor the other day and noticed that the backup ASI was showing the air speed up to 5 kts slower than the G1000, once the speed dropped below about 70 kts. Above that speed they agreed. Is this normal, or is something wrong with my kit? Thanks!
