Jun 4, 2020 · Compared to the 990 Pros, I'd say that the 990s have a more airy sound, while the 770s have better bass. Overall their sound signature is still very similar. I prefer closed headphones (such as the 770 Pro) for gaming because they block a lot of the background noise in the room, making it easier to hear more details in the game.

Oct 29, 2000 · Since you have a higher output impedance, you need headphones with higher impedance. The Bottlehead Crack is a good example - they can run my 250 ohm DT 770s perfectly, but when I use my Shure 440s (think they are 32 or 40 ohm impedance) the bass gets really overblown in a bad way, i.e. loose, flabby, etc.

Jan 17, 2020 · I am surprised the suggesting something this inexpensive, I have been amazingly satisfied with the MPOW X3 earbuds. I have the exact same DT 770 headphones you mentioned. These are not as good, but they do pretty nicely. They are bass heavy. You will want to use something that gives you an equalizer option to adjust that.

My HyperX Clouds still work fine after 7 years, but the ear pads are worn out and a replacement costs $15-20 with shipping. Now the top head band is wearing out, so that is why I am looking to replace it.

I don’t know that is really the case as my wife has the 80 Ohm version that I’m currently trying to break in which sound really good to my ears, though the bass seems to be more extended than my Sennheiser 630 VB set to neutral but I think that’s related to the 770s being more closed back than ...

Jun 30, 2003 · Can't test with my bd DT 770 Pro X headphones right now because the wire going to the right ear cup is severed right now -- cat got it. Haven't decided if I want to repair myself or send it in yet. Edit: yeah not happening unless I get a new soldering iron or open it up and put a whole new wire.

Jul 28, 2003 · I guess you didn't burn them in, the only phone I have that outdoes the 590 in the bass dept. is the dt-770. And it has more realistic highs than the 580 IMO. Your loss. To the OP, maybe if you strech your budget, you could get a set of Senn hd-280s.
