DD got too big to fast and it went to their heads. Same as nightforce. Now they think their shit is made from unobtainium the way they price it.

Jun 23, 2020 · With the DD Mk12 keep in mind that most people buy a Mk12 or SPR "type" rifle for precision. DD does a very good job, but the barrel is cold hammer forged and chrome lined. This type of barrel is made for durability and longevity. Their CHF barrels are some of the better CHF barrels on the market. We love their barrels.

Feb 28, 2015 · I owned a DD MK12 for a few months and was not impressed with it. I tried everything from 55gr xm193- AAA 77gr and Black Hills 77gr ammo out of it with OK performance. It was always a little over 1 MOA at 100 yards on a good day with zero wind. This was all done while shooting on bags or a bipod with a 1-4 NF, TA11F Acog or with a 5.5-22x50 NF.

Because of a precision rifle course (our to 600 yards) I’m taking in May, I bought a Vortex PST Gen II 3-15x FPP MRAD. Initially I was going to put the PST Gen II 2-10x on it but got the 3-15x for the course and easy wind hold reticle.

I am not looking for an actual mk12 clone or anything like that, it does not bother me that the DD says Mk12 but is not a real Mk12. I plan on putting a Nightforce 2.5-10 C462 on the rifle.

Oct 18, 2021 · I modernized my MK12 mod0 clone a few years ago with a URX4 and Bushnell LRHS 3-12. This past year I upgraded to. MK5 3.6-18 and really like it. The MK5 is shorter, has more magnification and is the about the same weight. Perfect SPR optic as far as I’m concerned. NF ATACR 4-16 or S&B Ultra Short would also be awesome for sure!

Nov 2, 2018 · The one you linked looks more of a direct competition to the DD Mk12 idea. Between the two, I think DD, overall, makes a more accurate barrel. Both are quality and both are extremely durable. I just think that DD is more accurate. Also, for the purpose of a MK12/SPR rifle, I think a 1:7 twist is more ideal for the heavier loads.
