Aug 27, 2021 · COUNCILLORS are calling for a regeneration project at Crewe's former baths to start as soon as possible. Flag Lane baths has fallen into disrepair since it was closed in 2016 after the opening of new swimming facilities at Crewe Lifestyle Centre.

May 23, 2022 · Ambitious plans to transform the former Crewe Baths into a flagship community centre have been recommended for approval. The locally listed building on Flag Lane was opened in 1937 and closed in 2016 when the new Lifestyle Centre opened.

Built of plain red brick, they comprised hot, tepid, and cold baths, showers, and an open-air swimming pool. The pool was pretty basic, as was common at that time. Water was changed once per week, and 'the price of admission was reduced as the water became progressively murkier'.

Learner pool swimming (under 12’s) – At some of our facilities we will offer swimming sessions in the learner pool. These sessions will be run separately to the sessions in the main pool and must also be booked online. Learner pool sessions are open to all swimmers, but are aimed at parents/guardians who want to bring their toddlers.
