For the newer generation of AMD processors like Phenom, Phenom II, newer Athlons, Semprons and Opterons (K10 architecture and up), and their derivatives, there is a different formula: 'CPU Temp* = Value / 8'. *CPU Temp is because the Phenom\Opteron (K10) have only one sensor per package, meaning there is only one reading per processor.

When I put the processor to 100% it shows 100% for both and the numbers do seem to be an average of two threads. With the Task Manager showing 10%, Core Temp will hover around 24-35% but usually 30%.

Nov 30, 2021 · Been using Core Temp to monitor CPU temps for the better part of a decade. I have a Thinkpad T14 Gen 2 AMD laptop that was running Windows 10 and Core Temp without issue. Last week, I updated to Windows 11, and launched Core Temp -- instant Windows black screen with the sad emoji. Uninstalled Core Temp and reinstalled, same result.

Jul 13, 2010 · Core Temp doesn't display VID for my processor. Voltage ID (VID) is not supported on any of Intel's "Core iX" series of processors predating the Sandy Bridge architecture. Core Temp reports incorrect vcore in the VID field. VID is not the same as VCore. VCore is the actual voltage the processor is being fed by the motherboard.
