Jan 24, 2020 · Nothing fermentable there. It’s usually used to reduce maltiness. Corn syrup is fermentable, but without something else you’d just be making hard seltzer. Maybe 40% 2-row, 40% corn syrup, 10% white wheat (for a little body and mouthfeel) and 10% flaked corn. That would give you 50% corn so you could call it corn beer.

Oct 19, 2023 · So the lack of specificity doesn't mean corn syrup isn't being used for beer making. For ales and other beers I tend to make, sugar is only used for priming. So what ever sugar is on hand at the moment is what gets used.

Jan 31, 2013 · If you're going to do it with el cheapo corn, grind it fine using a Corona-type mill first. Otherwise, you'll need like a 24 hour mash to get good efficiency, and that'll sour. In my experience, aside from distiller's mashes, feed corn makes awful tasting beer and never fully converts. If you try it, i hope you have better experiences with it.

Oct 5, 2010 · In my experience when bottling with corn syrup, it definately carbonated my beer but didn't carbonate it enough. I used northern brewers priming sugar calculator and the measurements were off. I gave it a shot because it was cheaper but corn sugar really isn't expensive; I would definately recommend corn sugar over the alternative.

I quite enjoyed the unhopped wort, and honestly could have drunk it as is, however my friend wouldn't have accepted sweet corn juice as a beer, neigh it have some variant of Saccharomyces in it.

Mar 28, 2006 · Where you make 2 beers, the 1st a big beer that is aged, then a little beer is combined with it. Both are made with flaked maze (corn). The big beer sounds like what you are trying to make. If you don't want to buy flaked maze. You might consider getting grits or corn flakes rather than whole corn because the corn really needs to be crushed.
