Jul 19, 2022 · Hi everyone. Yesterday I bought a cork log for my hamster I found in the reptile section. It has this dirt-like stuff all over the inside and comes off easily. At first I thought it was dirt but I think it's loose cork. Is it necessary to clean it out before giving it to my hamster? Is it harmful? Thanks in advance.

Apr 13, 2023 · cork log/tunnel: these r super awesome for texture and climbing on/through. i get mine either in the reptile section of pet stores, or on amazon from reptile product sellers! just bake before use and ur good to go :) grapevine wood: similar to the cork log, u can find these in reptile sections online and in store! just make sure to bake!

Sep 5, 2023 · Cork ones are usually solved by dragging them underwater and letting go or attaching something heavy to them if there's no water around that is deep enough. If you can't use either of those for whatever reason you can use a horse tow, a rocket, or any other object that either moves quickly or powerfully.

Feb 26, 2019 · I am massively insecure about how I should disinfect the wood and cork bark I want to use for my first bioactive vivarium. I heard of boiling, baking, bleaching and many other possibilities. While some people seem extremely pedantic about getting the stuff as much disinfected as possible, others just rinse it with hot water and that was it.

also, if you have a large enough water bowl, you could always dig out a big tunnel under it. i have one of these in each of my enclosures and they all get used. the other hides i have - i have one of the typical box hides buried under some substrate with fake plants and branches over it. a “sky hide” basically just a coco liner for hanging ...
