  1. Chamois vs. Flannel - Men's Clothing Forums

Dec 10, 2007 · Chamois shirts sell for more, are usually solid in color and are sometimes thicker than shirts labeled as flannel. I suspect at the end of the packing line somewhere in asia, boxes labeled flannel go to low end stores that sell to construction workers and boxes labeled chamois, go to high end stores. Same shirt in many cases.

  2. A trip through Chamois Cloth Shirts, and some questions...

Aug 4, 2010 · An L.L. Bean classic. Introduced in 1927 as the "Leatherette Shirt", a wind-resistant lightweight alternative to buckskin, renamed "Chamois Cloth" for the Spring 1933 catalog, in, I imagine, the original color, Tan. (1960) By 1960, another color had crept in - …

  4. LLBean Chamois vs. Flannel - Men's Clothing Forums

Apr 5, 2016 · I have a chamois from late '14/early '15 (apple cinnamon plaid) that is one of my favorite shirts- I generally wear it as a light jacket (untucked over an ocbd and under an LLB field coat). This year though, I would've had to purchase a large-xl to get the sleeves long enough, but the torso would've been massive on me (I wear a 34.5" sleeve/38 ...

  5. LL Bean Chamois Fit help please - Men's Clothing Forums

Jan 8, 2015 · The Bean chamois was introduced, I think, in the early 1930's and has never had a button-down collar. That means that it did not have a button-down collar during the heyday of the Ivy League look. That means that giving it a button-down collar isn't going to give it more fidelity to the Trad/Ivy aesthetic, since it never had that aesthetic in ...

  6. Moleskin vs. Bill's Chamois Cloth | Men's Clothing Forums

Aug 21, 2007 · my impression that moleskins are thick and soft, very much like an LL Bean chamois cloth cotton shirt, suitable as a dressier pair of pants for wide-wale corduroy weather (please correct me if this is wrong). Bill's Chamois Cloth, however seems to be a thinner material than what is used on regular Bill's Khakis (8.5-oz twill versus 6+oz twill).

  7. LL Bean chamois shirt rant - Men's Clothing Forums

Oct 24, 2015 · So at the end of last winter (February-ish), I decided to branch out and purchase my first chamois shirt from them- this beautiful apple cinnamon plaid that screams "fall": the shirt is amazing. I was advised prior to ordering the shirt to order a size down (because the shirt was a bit larger) so I ordered a small.

  8. Bean Chamois shirt; made in the USA and size 17, how old?

Jun 25, 2016 · Then say to Ms. Porter what you said in your initial post, and ask her if she could please research this matter at her convenience. (Perhaps she can review old Bean catalogues and, based on the product descriptions therein of the chamois cloth shirt, deduce approximately the year and season the chamois cloth shirt underwent the switcheroo.)

  9. Chamois for the shoes | Men's Clothing Forums

May 22, 2015 · As shared in the other thread, I would like to get an opinion from this forum on chamois leather used for shoes. My previous experience with chamois was confined to a cloth used to wipe a car dry. Hence, is it correct to assume that a chamois leather shoes can withstand water during rainy...

  10. What are moleskins? | Men's Clothing Forums

Mar 17, 2009 · Moleskins are quite thick and lose their colour easily because of this. They get creases that don't really change postion ( from wear in crotch, centre crease, crease from washing in small machine without much movement etc)....the creases stick out and wear off the fabric giving it a faded look.If washed in too small a machine you'll get a marbled looking disaster.
