The Canadian Army Trophy (CAT) competition was an international tank gunnery among the armor forces of the NATO countries in Western Europe. See historical overview.

The Canadian Army Trophy (CAT) is a tank gunnery competition established to foster excellence, camaraderie and competition among the armoured forces of the NATO countries in Western Europe. The trophy is a miniature sterling silver replica of a Canadian Army Centurion tank.

The PL87 is part of a full line of purpose-built Cat pipelayers designed for performance, safety and serviceability. Easy transport width, combined with the experienced support of the Cat dealer network, means this key pipe line equipment is available when and where you need it.

Preparations began early in 1986 with the formulation of the CAT '87 Rules and Conditions. The major rules and conditions that governed the preparation for and the conduct of CAT '87 had special significance for those who were organizing and preparing a competitor.

CAT87 he Canadian Army Troehy, the CAT Shoot, is the premiere NATO Main Battle Tan competition. It is described as the Olympics and World Series of Armor rolled into one. This world-class event, held bi-annually in Germany, pits elite armored units tank-to-tank, to determine NATO's top gunnery Army Group and the top gun Of tank platoons.

CAT '87. In the 1987 competition held on Range 301 center lane at Grafenwöhr, there were a total of 24 platoons competing (12 from NORTHAG and 12 from CENTAG).
