Dec 12, 2014 · BB-8, sometimes spelled and pronounced Beebee-Ate and nicknamed BB, was a BB-series astromech droid who operated approximately thirty years after the Battle of Endor. He had a dome head, similar to that of R2 series astromech droids, with the bulk of his body made up of a ball on which the droid's head rolled.

BB-8 (or Beebee-Ate) is a droid character in the Star Wars franchise. He appeared in the three films of the sequel trilogy, Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015), Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017), and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019).

When Poe’s mission to Jakku ended with his capture by the First Order, BB-8 fled into the desert with a vital clue to the location of Luke Skywalker. He rejoined Poe in time for the attack on Starkiller Base, then helped Rey locate Skywalker’s planet of exile.

BB-8 is an astromech droid and one of the main characters in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. Carrying part of a map that leads to Luke Skywalker, he is forced to part with Poe Dameron, his master and close friend. He travels across the deserts of Jakku in order to keep the map out of the hands of the First Order.

As the First Order attack began, BB-8 raced off into the Jakku night. A Teedo scavenger captured BB-8 in a net, causing the little droid to beep frantically for help. A young woman named Rey chased off the Teedo and freed the droid and then told BB-8 to go to Niima Outpost.
