Sokka's sword was a weapon crafted by the young Southern Water Tribe warrior during his swordsmanship training with Piandao. It was forged using ore from a recently fallen meteorite, [1] and Sokka later referred to it affectionately as his "space sword" due to the origin of its material.

Katana — A type of sword with a curved, slender, single-edged blade, a circular or rectangular guard, and a long grip to accommodate two hands. It is used by the Kyoshi Warriors and is one of the most effective means of cutting through organic material.

Piandao was a Fire Nation bladesmith, swordmaster, and calligrapher. A former member of the Fire Army, he was also a high-ranking member of the Order of the White Lotus and participated in the liberation of Ba Sing Se.
