The ATLAS ITk detector system for the Phase-II LHC upgrade
Jan 1, 2023 · The new detector is designed to cope with the increased pile-up, data rates and radiation levels of the HL-LHC, while maintaining or improving the current ATLAS tracking performance. The ITk design and technology R&D have been completed and pre-production of the detector modules is starting.
ATLAS ITk pixel detector overview - ScienceDirect
Jan 1, 2025 · To cope with the resulting increase in occupancy, bandwidth and radiation damage, the ATLAS Inner Detector will be replaced by an all-silicon system, the Inner Tracker (ITk). The innermost part of the ITk will consist of a pixel detector, with an active area of about 13 m 2.
Technical Design Report for the ATLAS Inner Tracker Strip Detector
The new Inner Tracker (ITk) will be operational for more than ten years, during which ATLAS aims to accumulate a total data set of 3,000 fb^[-1]. Meeting these requirements presents a unique challenge for the design of an all-silicon tracking system that consists of a pixel detector at small radius close to the beam line and a large-area strip ...
In this contribution, an overview of the ITk pixel detector project will be shown, from the design and the expected performance to prototyping, testing and qualification of the various components. The future challenges to overcome in the next years will be also presented.
ATLAS COLLABORATION UNIVERSITÉ DE GENÈVE The ATLAS Phase-II Inner Tracker ITk (Inner Tracker) is a full upgrade of the ATLAS Inner Detector as part of the Phase-II upgrade → includes new pixel and strip detectors, “all-silicon” detector → Designed to operate successfully under HL-LHC operating conditions corresponding to:
ITk Endcap Homepage - Atlas Wiki - Nikhef
The ATLAS Upgrade Inner Tracker (ITk) consists of several layers of silicon particle detectors. The innermost layers will be composed of silicon pixel sensors, and the outer layers will consist of silicon microstrip sensors. Nikhef work focuses on the strip region of the ITk.
X-Team - Inner Tracker (ITk) - IHEP
The new Inner Tracker (ITk) will be operational for more than ten years, during which ATLAS aims to accumulate a total data set of 3,000 \(fb^{−1}\). Meeting these requirements presents a unique challenge for the design of an all-silicon tracking system that consists of a pixel detector at small radius close to the beam line and a large-area ...
Testing the limits of ITkPixV2: the ATLAS inner tracker pixel …
12 hours ago · The ATLAS Inner Tracker (ITk) upgrade will consist of both pixel and strip detector systems. The final version of the ITk Pixel detector chip is the ITkPixV2 chip, which has been developed over the course of over a decade by the CERN RD53 collaboration [ 1 ] , along with the CROC-V2 chip for the CMS experiment, meeting similar requirements.
The ATLAS ITk Strip detector system for the Phase-II LHC upgrade
May 1, 2024 · Due to the luminosity increase by the HL-LHC foreseen after 2029, the ATLAS experiment is replacing its complete inner detector will a new all-silicon based Inner Tracker (ITk). The ITk is composed of Pixel and Strip detectors and is expected to maintain and even improve the performance of the ATLAS experiment under the harsh environment that ...
