I'd say having more than one sword is a great option, maybe arming sword on the hip and a great sword or long sword on his horse, with maybe a few other weapons as well.

A massive sword that could only be used with two hands was basically only used in rare cases and was called a zweihander (literally “two hander” in German) and it would never (or basically never) been used against people. Feb 13, 2023 · The falchion seems totally outclassed by the arming sword to me. Side to side swings are much worse for PvP because you will be hitting arms more often (nullifying the extra damage they get), and simple crouch and turn jukes can result in your swings missing entirely.

Nah Viking Sword outranges Arming, by a significant amount too. Falchion's first swing is the only one with significant reach, everything else is average. That first swing has such a hilariously large phantom hitbox though. It still makes me chuckle when I hit the air in front of someone and they fall over. Like yep, totally hit.
