The dogcow, named Clarus, is a bitmapped image designed by Apple for the demonstration of page layout in the classic Mac OS. The sound it makes is "Moof!", a portmanteau of "moo" and "woof". [1]

The dogcow, also known as "Clarus", is a bitmapped image first introduced by Apple Computer. According to a technical note provided by Apple Computer in 1989, the dogcow visually resembles a dog with a nose and spots like a cow.

At WWDC 1996, Apple featured beer brewed in California, and one of the examples was dubbed “Moof Bräu.” A photo of the bottle can be seen here, pulled from an old QuickTime VR document:
