"Antlered deer are deer with antlers 3 inches or longer in length; antlerless deer include deer without antlers and deer with antlers less than 3 inches in length". In both phrases it says antlers , that's plural meaning two.

Feb 8, 2017 · Are anybody elses antlers holding longer than usual? I feel like the mild winter up to this point has kept my main hitlisters holding bone longer than normal. I know for a fact that my #1 shed before Jan 1st last year, and this year hes still holding as of Feb 5th.

Mar 19, 2006 · It is my understanding that as long as the antler has the pedicle on it (showing it is a true shed), there is nothing wrong with having it. However, if you have antlers without pedicles or skulls with antlers, I believe you technically are supposed to have it tagged. Not sure on the laws about state parkes, etc.

Shedding of antlers is supposedly due to a drop in testosterone level in a buck, however I have witnessed bucks without antlers chasing does this time of the year.
