Jan 4, 2010 · Picked-Up Advent/3 Speakers - I picked up a pair of these little guys last week - little rough around the edges, missing one Advent badge but otherwise in presentable condition. The butyl rubber surrounds are good. Tweeters in excellent condition. Grills a little grubby but cleanable - no tears or stains.

Apr 30, 2006 · That info is not correct, at least for my Advent 3s. Like a dumbass, I saw several posts here stating the above values. Instead of checking my own first, I ordered them from Madisound along with another order I was making to recap my AR2s. So I pull my woofers in my Advent 3s, and I have 16mf, and 3mf in mine. I actually have 3 Advent 3 speakers.

Sep 14, 2007 · Notes:The advent /3 is a great small bookshelf that still has the classic look and sound. It uses the same cone tweeter as the model 2, but only one instead of two in an array. The plus to the /3 was the amazing bass response for such a small box.

Sep 30, 2015 · Hi. I may be just working towards reusing the enclosures from my Advent 3 speakers, LOL..... but here goes. Woofer went first, some years ago; replaced it with.....something. A tweeter went next, and I had them both replaced (with a Marantz copy) by a local hifiguy. Now the other original woofer has gone.

Oct 5, 2011 · Advent/3 and the NLA are two different speakers with different drivers and crossovers...the NLA is about 91db on the sensitivity scale and are much louder than the Advent/3 is when played with a low powered amp. Apple and oranges. I have both sets of speakers.

Jan 4, 2010 · So I'm here to officially recant my so-so review of the Advent 3. I've now lived with these for three weeks. My initial impression over two days wasn't so great because I was comparing them to my previous speakers B&W DM23 which are very polite and accurate. In comparison, the Advent 3 were like a carnival midway, very bright and splashy.

Jan 23, 2019 · It could be the crossover. It happened to me with a pair of Advent/1 years ago. The only place you might mind a replacement tweeter is here on Barter Town ($25 annual fee to gain access) or eBay. Advent has been out of business for decades. The tweeters used in the Advent/2 are also used in the /3. The /2 used two tweeters, but it's the same one.

Apr 24, 2020 · I am $30 deep into a pair of Advent 3's. The cabinet and grill are flawless and the original tweeters and crossovers are good and nothing on the speakers has been altered. BUT the woofers are blown. Rub and burned coils. I am not really sure what to do to be honest. I was quoted $140 for a recone of the pair of woofers.

Sep 13, 2010 · I'd guess that a pair of Baby Advent woofers (later model) shouldn't be much different, from a functional standpoint, from the original Advent 3 woofers. There's tons of Baby Advents out there... you may be able to find such a woofer on "that auction site" or whatnot... BTW- IIRC, many of these Advent 6.5" woofers WERE 4 ohms.

My question is it appears as if the 16u cap and the 3u cap are wired in series with a resister tied to the 3u cap. Am I seeing this correcty and if so what was the...
